At first time Hyundai Genesis made its public debut in 2008 at home in Korea. Its sales in the North American market began in 2009. Korean group decided to go their own way without creating a separate brand to release a luxury car, as many Japanese and some European companies did.
Its sedan premium produced under the same brand as the rest. Hyundai is a pioneer in this direction. There was risk, of course, but judging by the constantly growing volumes of sales, the calculation was correct.
Under the hood Hyundai Genesis can be equipped with one of two proposed petrol V-shaped six-cylinder engines, series Lambda with a volume of 3.0 and 3.8 l turbo 249 or 315 HP and a torque of 304 or 397 Nm, respectively. Hyundai Genesis with 2014 Hyundai Elantra headlights is available only with eight-speed automatic transmission.
In the basic version of Hyundai Genesis the drive is provided to the rear wheels, all the rest – only all wheel drive with the intelligent control system HTRAC, which distributes the engine torque between the axles depending on driving conditions and driving behavior, providing better grip and stability in corners.
